Delgado opened it’s 2011 Spring Training Invitational at Disney’s Wide World of Sports in Orlando, FL with a Doubleheader win over Mott Community College on Wednesday.

In the first game, Delgado scored 13 runs en route to their ten-run rule victory. Scott Fabre went 2 for 3 with a triple and three RBIs and Alex Prestenbach went 2 for 3 with 3 RBIs. Nate Fury picked up his second win of the season on the mound, pitching a one-hit shutout.

A nearly two hour weather delay pushed a delayed start to the second game of the Doubleheader. Mott CC scored the first run of the game in the fifth inning. Delgado answered the challenge in the bottom of the 7th, scoring two runs on RBI singles by Daniel Brockhoeft and Chad Gough-Fortenberry to secure the Dolphins 2-1 victory to improve to 13-3 on the season. 

Delgado will continue in Disney’s Spring Invitational with doubleheaders on Friday and Saturday morning.
