Delgado swept a Doubleheader on Friday afternoon in Day 2 of the 2011 Disney Spring Training Invitational in Orlando, FL to improve to 15-3 on the season.
Delgado carried an 11-0 lead into the third inning and never lost the lead en route to a 16-run win over the Hawks, who are currently ranked #1 in this week’s Division II NJCAA poll. Offensively, Daniel Brockhoeft went 3-4 with 3 RBIs and Chad Gough-Fortenberry who was 2-5 with 3RBIs. Brent Bonvillain pitched five innings, allowing four hits while striking out four and walking three to improve to a 3-0 record on the mound this season.
In Game 2, The Dolphins scored six runs in the fourth, led by a two-run,RBI single by Harold Toscano. Jake Fabre pitched five innings, allowing three runs on three Heartland hits, while striking out five and walking four. Three of Heartland’s four runs were unearned runs.
Delgado (15-3) will play Brookdale CC (New Jersey) in a 10 a.m. Doubleheader on Saturday morning at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.
