Delgado fell to Baton Rouge 9-5 on Sunday afternoon in the rubber match of the weekend Miss-Lou conference series.
Delgado took an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first when Angelo Bruno’s RBI-single scored Sean McMullen, who had reached base on a double. McMullen would also reach on another double in the third and score when Alex Prestenbach grounded out to the shortstop. Angelo Bruno’s RBI double and James Davis’ single would score three additional Delgado runs in the fifth inning to close the Delgado scoring and account for the 9-5 loss. Stone Speer picked up the loss on the mound for the Dolphins, who fell to 1-2 on the weekend.
Delgado (33-11) will travel to Meridian this weekend to round out the regular season Miss-Lou Conference schedule with a three-game series.
