Delgado dropped it’s Miss-Lou Conference doubleheader against Meridian
Community College, losing both of Saturday’s games 8-3.
In game one, Delgado fell behind 8-0 before Delgado sparked a mini-
rally in the top of the 6th inning, when Daniel Brockhoeft reached
base on a lead-off error by the shortstop. Chad Gough-Fortenberry and
Scott Fabre followed with singles. Brockhoeft scored on a past ball
and Fortenberry and Fabre scored on Alex Prestenbach’s 2-RBi single.
Brent Bonvillain got the loss on the mound, falling to 7-2 on the
season.
In game two, Meridian took another early lead before Daniel Brockhoeft
posted the Dolphins first two runs with a 6th-inning homerun, scoring
Sean McMullen who had reached base on a single. James Davis’ solo
homer in the seventh inning closed the Delgado scoring as the Dolphins
fell to Meridian 8-3 to drop the series. Nate Fury got the loss on the
mound.
With the losses, Delgado falls to 33-13 overall. The series will
conclude with a single, 9-inning game on Saturday afternoon at
Meridian’s Skaggs Field.
