Delgado defeated Copiah-Lincoln in a doubleheader Tuesday evening, closing out their regular season homestand at Kirsch-Rooney Stadium.
In the first game, pitchers Stone Speer and Wade Delauneville held the Wolfpack to four hits, while the Dolphins posted thirteen en route to the 8-4 win. The Dolphins opened the scoring in the first inning with four runs, aided by Alex Prestenbach’s sacrifice fly, Angelo Bruno’s double, and James Davis’ 2-RBI triple. Angelo Bruno also went 3-3 with two RBIs. Stone Speer picked up the win on the mound.
In Game two, Copiah Lincoln held Delgado to only four hits, which the Dolphins capitalized on for the 4-1 victory. Ben Mundell pitched five innings in relief of starter Nate Fury and picked up the win on the mound.
Delgado (36-13) will close out their regular season on Saturday in a doubleheader at LSU-Eunice. The Dolphins will host the Miss-Lou Conference tournament next month at Kirsch-Rooney.
