Delgado Community College will host the 2011 South Central District Championship this weekend (May 20-22) at Kirsch-Rooney Stadium. The Dolphins, who captured the Region XXIII title last weekend, earned the right to host the tournament for the first time in program history. Delgado will welcome Eastern Oklahoma State College (Region II Champion) and Jefferson College (MO) (Region XVI Champion) in the three-team, double-elimination tournament.

The winning team will advance to the Junior College World Series in Grand Junction, Colorado next week.

Delgado (40-15) enters the tournament ranked #24 in this weekâ?Ts NJCAA Division I poll. Eastern Oklahoma holds the #20 spot, with Jefferson College just ahead at #19.
